VIPER GUARD NEW UNIVERSAL TRAILER LOCK MADE IN BRUM

Commercial vehicle safety & security specialist Viper Guard is to have an exclusive universal trailer lock made in Britain.
The lock fits a wide variety of trailer rear doors and is built to withstand substantial attack. Discussions had been held with a European manufacturer but with the weakening pound, margins on imported products have fallen to almost nothing - threatening to wipe out any potential profits and Viper Guard General Manager Debbie Jones decided that British is best.
So Viper Guard has commissioned leading coupling manufacturer Illston & Robson of Birmingham to create and manufacture the new universal trailer lock, and Debbie said: "Clearly it's an ill wind that blows nobody any good - the weak pound may be making life hard for importers, but on the other hand it creates an opportunity for British manufacturers.
"A bonus is that Illston & Robson already manufactures Viper Guard's exclusive coupling lock, so operators who use both products can have them keyed alike."

SmartWater forensic technology is being trialled by Northamptonshire Police and local hauliers as part of a scheme to catch truck thieves.
